Spring 2020 TUTORING START DATE: MONDAY, January 13, 2020 PLEASE READ: Barton Campus Math & Writing Center Changes Effective June 10 , the Academic Coaching & Tutoring Department will undergo several changes at the Barton Campus to better serve and meet the needs of our students. The ASPIRE Learning Zone and Transitional Studies Tutoring area, in the University Transfer Building 104 Room 357, will become the Math Center. The Math Center will provide math support to students across the curriculum through drop-in and appointment tutoring. Services will include the following: Review of textbook problems Help with internet-based instructional software (ex. Hawkes, MyMathLab, etc.) Calculator assistance Review workshops (select courses) Writing and reading assistance, currently located in UT 104-357, will relocate to the Academic Coaching & Tutoring Center downstairs in Room 131. The Writing Center will provide support to students needing assistance with writing assignments (any course), reading and speech courses. Services will include the following: Consultations on pre-writing exercises or drafted writing assignments Brainstorming the writing process Speech preparation Grammar review Subject tutoring is available for other courses such as biology, engineering, nursing, history, computer technology and more. Academic Coaching & Tutoring provides free tutoring, to current Greenville Technical College students, in a variety of courses including but not limited to Math, English, Chemistry, History, Accounting, Anatomy & Physiology and much more. In addition to tutoring, we also provide academic coaching. Academic Coaching & Tutoring is available at the Barton, Brashier, Greer, and Northwest Campuses If this is your first time scheduling an appointment you will be required to register. Once you have registered enter your username and password, then select the campus schedule of your choice. Select log-in and choose a course from the drop down box at the top of the screen. To schedule an appointment, click on the white space of your chosen tutor and complete the form to schedule an appointment. Appointments can be 30 minutes to an hour in length.
